Where your money comes from
Steal an Egg has four income sources, and their weight changes dramatically as you progress:

Early game: pet volume wins
In the opening hours, 70% of your money is pet passive income. The strategy is simple: fill every pet slot with the fastest hatches you can get. Spam the Meadow Egg (30-second hatch) until every slot works, then move to the Rare Egg for 1x-4x multiplier pets.
Never buy an upgrade that leaves a pet slot empty for long. A filled slot earning pennies beats a slot that earns nothing while you save for walls.
Late game: the big three
Once you reach the end-game, income splits almost evenly between pet passive (35%), treadmill (30%) and base income (30%). This is where the Lava Egg shines: a single legendary Lava pet reports up to ~$77,000/s at full bonuses - more than an entire starter roster combined.
The end-game roster is built on Mythic pets from Mythic and Cosmic eggs, boosted by your rebirth bonus. Each rebirth's permanent +5% passive income bonus applies to every one of these pets, so rebirths and pets compound together.
Treadmill economics
The treadmill is a money engine, not just a stat gate. Its training payouts grow with level, and Speed unlocks the biomes where better eggs live. Every coin spent on the treadmill is spent twice: once as income, once as biome access.
Two specific thresholds matter for money:
- Speed 100 - unlocks the Storm Peaks Lava Egg (~$77,000/s).
- Speed 150 - doubles mutation chance, giving you stronger pet stats.
Best egg per stage
- Starter Egg (Instant) - Brand-new players.
- Meadow Egg (~30 seconds) - Early-game passive income.
- Rare Egg (~2 minutes) - Mid-game income core.
- Epic Egg (~8 minutes) - Mid-to-late transition.
- Mythic Egg (~5 hours growth) - Late-game goals.
Gamepass value ranking
If you spend Robux, value for money is: X2 Money (doubles every source of income) → X2 Growth (accelerates egg hatching and pet growth) → Grow All (late-game rosters) → Instant Hatch (event players). X2 Money is the only one that makes every other source in this guide stronger.
